Frequently asked
How do I get directions to a haunt?
Tap any pin to open its card, then use the directions button — you can hand off to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze.
Is the app free?
Yes. Browsing the map, reading the stories, viewing photos, search, Near Me, favorites, and proximity alerts are all free, with no account required.
How do proximity alerts work, and how do I change the distance?
Open the bell / alerts control, turn on proximity notifications, and set how close a haunt has to be — anywhere from 1 to 20 miles. You'll need to allow location and notifications when prompted. It's entirely optional and off until you enable it.
What are Favorites and the Bucket List?
Favorites mark the places you love; the Bucket List is for the ones you're planning to visit. Both are saved on your phone and shown in the saved list. They don't require an account.
How does Check In & Share work?
On any haunt's card, tap Check In & Share. The app makes a shareable card for that place and opens the share sheet so you can post it to Instagram, Messages, Facebook, X, or anywhere else — your choice.
Why do some haunts not have a photo?
We only show photos we can source and credit. A handful of the more obscure spots don't have one yet, so they display our ghost marker instead. We're always adding more.
A listing is wrong, or I own a property and want it added or updated.
Tell us. If a detail, photo, or story is off — or you own a haunted location and want it added, corrected, or featured with your own photos — email hello@paranormalpitstops.app with the place name and what you'd like changed. Owners: let us know you're the owner and we'll use your approved photos.
How do I suggest a new haunt?
Send the name, town, and anything you know about its history or hauntings to hello@paranormalpitstops.app. We read every one.
