Privacy Policy

Paranormal Pitstops ("the app") is made by The Haunted Garage ("we," "us"). This policy explains what the app does and doesn't do with your information.

Information we don't collect

The app has no accounts and no login. We don't collect your name, email, contacts, or any personal profile. We don't use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and we don't build a profile of you or sell data — because we don't collect it in the first place.

Location

If you grant location permission, the app uses your location only on your device to:

• show haunted places near you and power the "Near Me" list, and
• send optional proximity alerts when you're within a distance you choose.

Your location is processed on your phone and is never transmitted to us or stored on any server. Location permission is optional — the map, search, stories, and photos all work without it. You can turn it off anytime in iOS Settings.

What's stored on your device

Your Favorites, Bucket List, and check-ins are saved in the app's storage on your phone only. They aren't uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes them.

Check In & Share

When you tap "Check In & Share," the app creates an image and a caption and hands them to iOS's standard share sheet. You choose whether to post and where. We don't see, collect, or store what you share or who you share it with.

Photos and content

Location photos are displayed from their sources (such as Wikimedia Commons, venue websites, and other public sources) with on-screen credit. Location stories are original text grounded in publicly documented history and folklore. Some listings link out to venue websites, Wikipedia, or map apps; once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Children

The app is a general-audience guide and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date.
